This is the website of David "D.J." Peters, a freelance photographer based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. My images have appeared locally in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and nationally through my work for the Associated Press.
I've been a photojournalist in Texas for about a dozen years. So I've witnessed some of the big events that have taken place in this region during that time. I was there the day the Space Shuttle Columbia broke up and rained down on East Texas. And I was there to document the influx of Hurricane Katrina refugees into the state. And I covered the Immigration March on Dallas City Hall that drew hundreds of thousands.
But when I look back, the events don't spring to mind. The people that I've met do.
So much of the photography you'll see here, will reflect exactly that - people.
